Die hochfrequenten oszillatorischen Signalanteile wirken dann wie ein sogenanntes "Dither-Signal" linearisierend über den vollen Totzonebereich, behindern aber niederfrequente Regelbewegungen, denen im Hauptkreis die oszillatorischen Signale überlagert sind, deswegen nicht, weil sich die Anpassung der Totzone infolge der Frequenzbereichsauswahl im Anpaßkreis nur nach den Amplituden der hochfrequenten Signalanteile richtet.

The high-frequency oscillatory signal components then have a linearizing effect over the full range of the dead band, much like a so-called dither signal, but do not interfere with low-frequency control motions on which the oscillatory signals are impressed in the main loop because the adjustment of the dead band is based only on the amplitudes of the high-frequency signal components as a result of the frequency-range selection in the adaptive network.
