Links auf dem Gemälde ist ein Brunnen zu sehen, aus welchem Wasser fließt. Der Ausguss des Brunnens entlässt das Wasser in einem bestimmten Winkel. Auf dem Brunnen liegt eine Latte. Über dem Brunnen und dem Wasserhahn ist ein Dach, welches Dornen erkennen lässt. Neben dem Brunnen sind (in der Mitte unten auf der Leinwand) Vögel (Tauben) zu sehen. Eines der Vögel bückt sich und pickt nach Etwas.
