Vom stadtzentrum kommend erblickt man im Norden der altstadt die unverwechselbare Gestalt des Augsburger Domes: Im Westen den alten ottonischen Bau(995-1065) mit unverputzten Mauerwerk und den zwei Türmen, im Osten daran anschließend der mächtige, weiß verputzte goische Chor (1356-1431) mit bedeutenden Figurenportalen im Süden und im Norden.

Coming from the city center one sees in the north of the old town, the distinctive shape of the Augsburg Cathedral: In the West, the old Ottoman building (995-1065) with exposed brickwork and the two towers in the east adjoining the mighty, plastered goische Choir (White 1356-1431 ) with significant figure portals in the south and the north.
