On 8 September 2006 the OeNB informed the ECB that at the OeNB's General Meeting in May 2006, KPMG Alpen-Treuhand GmbH did not obtain the majority of votes necessary to be selected and, that as a consequence thereof, the second ranked auditor, TPA Horwath Wirtschaftsprüfung GmbH, was appointed first auditor.

Am 8. September 2006 teilte die OeNB der EZB mit, dass in der Generalversammlung der OeNB im Mai 2006 die KPMG Alpen-Treuhand GmbH nicht die Mehrheit der erforderlichen Stimmen erhalten hat, um ausgewählt zu werden, und infolgedessen der an zweiter Stelle stehende Rechnungsprüfer, die TPA Horwath Wirschaftsprüfung GmbH, als erster Rechnungsprüfer bestellt wurde.
