This urgent entreaty comes across to me from the conclusions of the Fava report and is the political point that I believe needs to be emphasised.

Das ist eine eindringliche Aufforderung, die ich den Schlussfolgerungen des Berichts Fava entnehme, und das ist der politische Gesichtspunkt, den ich als hervorhebenswert empfinde.

A small entreaty: would it not be possible for the Swedish Government during the Presidency to hazard an initiative which might put an end to this travelling back and forth?

Eine kleine Bitte: könnte die schwedische Regierung während ihrer Ratspräsidentschaft nicht versuchen, diesem Reisezirkus ein Ende zu bereiten?

Ignoring this entreaty from the people we are supposed to represent, this Parliament is seriously considering purchasing these buildings and making this bizarre arrangement permanent.

Das Parlament ignoriert die inständige Bitte der Bürger, die wir angeblich vertreten, und zieht allen Ernstes den Kauf dieser Gebäude in Betracht, um diese absonderliche Situation damit dauerhaft festzuschreiben.

Let me say just a word or two on the subject of Turkey.If our Turkish partners ask us to involve them in planning and to supply them with weapons for their defence, I do not believe that we can refuse such a request, such an entreaty.

Ein Satz noch zur Türkei: Wenn unsere türkischen Partner darum bitten, dass wir sie in die Planung aufnehmen, ihnen Verteidigungswaffen zur Verfügung zu stellen, dann, so finde ich, können wir ein solches Ersuchen, eine solche Bitte nicht ablehnen.
