Verfahren zur Identifikation von Verbindungen, die fähig sind, eine synergistische Wirkung eines Steroidrezeptors und eines Rel Proteins auf regulatorische Elemente zu modulieren, umfassend die Schritte des: - Vorsehens einer Zelle umfassend ein regulatorisches Element, fähig, durch einen Steroidrezeptor und ein Rel Protein synergistisch aktiviert zu werden, wobei die besagte Zelle zusätzlich ausreichende Niveaus des besagten Steroidrezeptors und des besagten Rel Proteins oder funktionale Äquivalente von diesen umfasst, um die synergistische Aktivierung des regulatorischen Elements zu gestatten, - Kontaktierens der besagten Zelle mit mindestens einer Verbindung, - Bestimmens, ob die Aktivierung des regulatorischen Elements durch die Verbindung moduliert ist. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei der besagte Steroidrezeptor aus der Gruppe ausgewählt wird, die umfasst: den Östrogenrezeptor ?, den Östrogenrezeptor ? und den Mineralkortikoidrezeptor oder funktionale Äquivalente von diesen.
