That`s right, but a Mexican wouldn`t characterize itself as an American, but perhaps a Canadian :-), however, you could also argue that an initiative must be existing to integrate itself, or to identify with a culture also. The identification with Germany has to fight absolutely still with the fact which is based in our country historic and will be existing forever for a bit. In US there is quite an other view of patriotism and national pride. To come on other cultures or to tolerate them doesn`t tell also to converge immediately. However, there are definitively important steps for the integration been missed.

Das ist richtig, aber eine mexikanische würde nicht charakterisieren sich selbst als ein Amerikaner, aber vielleicht ein kanadischer :-), jedoch könnte man auch argumentieren, dass eine Initiative um sich zu integrieren, oder mit einer Kultur auch bestehende werden muss. Die Identifikation mit Deutschland hat absolut noch mit der Tatsache zu kämpfen, die in unserem Land historischen basiert und wird für immer ein wenig vorhanden sein. In den USA gibt es schon eine andere Ansicht von Patriotismus und Nationalstolz. Auf andere Kulturen zu kommen oder zu tolerieren sagen nicht auch, sofort konvergieren. Jedoch sind es endgültig wichtige Schritte zur Integration verfehlt wurde.
