The authenticity of the amp models in comparison to their real counterparts isn’t as immediately obvious as when using, for example, Line 6’s HD300. But with tweaking, dialling in a number of reasonably authentically vintage-flavoured tones into the EX is straightforward. The downsides? Hello Martin , The laser arrived here in Val yesterday and is working well !! Please thank your guys in Leipzig . Did they change both scanners ? One question I have is that when I use the ilda test pattern to determine scanner speed ( around 50 pps @ 8°) , the scanners seem happy at around 22 pps but are overdriven at 50 pps . This was also true before these new scanners were fitted . Is there a reason ? Best wishes and again, many thanks for the rapid repair work !! It's snowing ( at last !!) Dick

Eine Frage, die ich habe, ist, dass wenn ich die ilda Testmuster verwenden, um Scanner-Geschwindigkeit (etwa 50 pps @ 8 °) zu bestimmen, die Scanner gerne bei rund 22 pps scheinen, aber bei 50 pps übersteuert. Dies galt auch, bevor diese neuen Scanner ausgestattet wurden. Gibt es einen Grund? Beste Wünsche und wieder, vielen Dank für die schnelle Reparatur! Es schneit (endlich!) Dick

Frequently, and especially with orchestral music, I heard brightness and a kind of "mail-slot" effect in the Air Tight’s sound -- as if the top and bottom of the full range of frequencies had been chopped off. The Air Tight didn’t produce anywhere near the bass and slam of the 150Wpc, solid-state PBN Mini-Olympia amp I’d reviewed last year or the 40W deHavilland Fisher 50As. There was also a slight overdriven quality to the treble: a decided lack of silkiness and a somewhat grainy top end. I would have liked more body and midrange warmth, too.
