In mid-May, John Dandolph was named Executive Vice President and President of the MPM Silicones and Quart Division (SQD). Following this announcement, the SQD’s organizational realignment accelerated quickly with additional clarity on the “To Be” organization going forward. The new structure will provide a greater focus on global product lines and a more efficient organization structure. The new structure creates four sectors and 10 global business units within the sectors. Each business unit will be able to develop specific strategies and tactical actions that are aimed at its markets, customers and competitor dynamics. While a difficult decision, we also announced a global restructuring that represented an approximate six percent staffing reduction in an effort to optimize our cost structure and improve our efficiency.
