Thermal reversibility and long-term stability are two of the most important requirements for using a system of substances as thermochemical storage material in the considered temperature range. Both prerequisites were tested by infrared-monitoring while running the Diels-Alder reaction and Retro-Diels-Alder reaction, respectively. Due to the assumed reversibility and the lack of solutes ATR spectroscopy is one of only few possibilities to determine reactant concentrations at specific reaction times.

Thermal Reversibilität und langfristige Stabilität sind zwei der wichtigsten Voraussetzungen für die Verwendung eines Systems von Stoffen als thermochemische Speichermaterial im betrachteten Temperaturbereich. Beide Voraussetzungen wurden durch Infrarot-Überwachung überprüft während der Ausführung der Diels-Alder-Reaktion und Retro-Diels-Alder-Reaktion sind. Aufgrund der Reversibilität ausgegangen und das Fehlen von gelösten Stoffen ATR-Spektroskopie ist eine der wenigen Möglichkeiten, Reaktantkonzentrationen an bestimmten Reaktionszeiten zu bestimmen.

Fig. 5 shows the development of all reactant concentrations of our Diels-Alder system while executing a temperature program. For 2-n-butylfuran and N-tert-butylmaleimide peak areas under the specific absorptions are plotted against reaction time. In case of the product only absorptions (peak heights) were recorded because of slight overlaps with neighboring signals. Both measures are proportional to concentrations of related substances. Additionally the temperature program is mapped.

Fig. 5 zeigt die Entwicklung aller Reaktantkonzentrationen unserer Diels-Alder-System während der Ausführung einer Temperatur Programm. Für 2-n-butylfuran und N-tert-Butylmaleimid Peakflächen unter den spezifischen Absorptionen gegen Reaktionszeit aufgetragen. Im Falle der Produkt nur Absorptionen (Peakhöhen) wurden wegen der geringen Überschneidungen mit benachbarten Signalen aufgezeichnet. Beide Maßnahmen sind proportional zur Konzentration von verwandten Stoffen. Dazu muss die Temperatur-Programm zugeordnet ist.
