When they reached the centre of the crowd Murugi called out something in Swahili. Daniels had no idea what it meant but a tall man in white robes and turban gestured to him. Murugi and the man exchanged words while he examined what the big African had on offer. He seemed pleased with what he saw and took the rope from Murugi to lead Daniels up onto the stage where the other slaves were being displayed ready for the auction.
