Georgian artist Avtandil Gurgenidze has just debuted with his art project Art Avia at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine. The exhibition contains over one hundred and thirty paintings, each made on a separate airsickness bag, usually available on board of commercial airlines. Avtandil Gurgenidze is a prominent artist whose works illustrate various themes in bright colors and are featured in cabins located on mountain peaks and ski resorts. His art also could be found on walls of metro stations. Mr. Gurgenidze has also been recognized numerous times for his artistic photography. His idea of Art Avia project was born during one of Avtandil’s long flights, where he painted on several airsickness bags just to kill time. “While I was flying I was looking for material to paint on.
