There are two buildings that make up this compound. The one you're standing outside of now is the mercenary base, where the Biotic Cultists reside. If you're going the persuasion route, then you don't actually have to go inside here (though you might want to loot the locked crate, technician kit, malfunctioning object, medical kit, and aid station inside). If you're fighting your way to Kyle, then you must go inside here and eliminate the Biotics so that you can use the control panel in the back room to unlock the door leading into the second building.
