Wenn die christliche Tradition der prosopographischen Exegese eine literarische Neuheit zum Ausdruck brachte, so zeigt die von den Vätern, vor allem von Augustinus, vollzogene Einführung der Kategorie der Beziehung und der Person gerade die Umkehrung der alten kulturellen Parameter einer zutiefst vom klassischen Denken geprägten Welt.

If the Christian tradition of prosopographical exegesis expressed a literary novelty, the introduction of the category of relation and that of person by the Fathers and by Augustine, above all, speak of upheaval in the ancient cultural parameters of a world deeply marked by classical thought.

Den fremdartigen Lauten schenkte in Konnersreuth zunächst niemand Beachtung, da keiner sie deuten konnte. Entdeckt wurde das Sprachenphänomen erstmals, als Prof. Dr. Franz X. Wutz, Hochschullehrer für alttestamentliche Exegese und Biblische Wissenschaften an der philosophisch theologischen Fakultät in Eichstätt, zufällig in der Gegend von Konnersreuth weilte und von dem Mädchen hörte, das Schauungen habe und auch eine unbekannte Sprache spreche.

At first, nobody in Konnersreuth paid any attention to these different sounds, because nobody could interpret them. Prof. Dr. Franz X. Wutz, a university teacher of Exegesis of the Old Testament and Biblical Sciences at the Philosophical-Theological Faculty in Eichstätt, discovered the linguistic phenomenon for the first time. Just by chance, he stayed in the area and heard about the girl having visions and talking in an unknown language.

Er werde dies wohl auch nicht mehr erleben, aber er wünsche sich doch, wenigstens wie Mose vom Berg Nebo noch auf das Gelobte Land einer von allen lehramtlichen Überwachungen und Fesseln frei gewordenen Exegese hineinblicken zu dürfen.
