Zudem wird tonnenweise Beifang "produziert": Bei der Shrimpfischerei sind 90% des Fanges andere Tiere oder zu kleine Shrimps, die verletzt oder meist tot zurück ins Meer geworfen werden. Auch Wale, Delfine und Haie landen als Beifang in den Netzen der Fischer. Greenpeace kämpft unter anderem dafür, dass mindestens 40% der Meere dauerhaft durch Schutzgebiete geschützt werden. Zudem fordert Greenpeace eine nachhaltige Fischereipolitik, ein konsequentes Bekämpfen der Piratenfischerei, sowie ein Ende des unsinnigen Walfanges.
