Herr Präsident, meine Damen und Herren! Ich wurde gebeten, nochmal das Wort zu ergreifen, nicht zur Beantwortung, wobei es mich als Parlamentarier wirklich nachgerade juckt, direkt zu antworten auf viele der Beiträge, die ich hier gehört habe.

Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I was asked to speak again, although not at this point to respond directly - which, as a member of parliament myself, I am itching to do - to many of the statements I have heard here.

Für uns Parlamentarier ist daher der Bearbeitungsprozess eher kompliziert und setzt Kooperationsbereitschaft, maximale Kooperationsbereitschaft der Kommission voraus.

The consequence of this is that we MEPs find the process of working through this rather complicated; of the Commission, it demands a willingness to cooperate, and that to the utmost.

Die Erarbeitung einer solchen Grundrechtscharta wäre eine typische Aufgabe für Parlamentarier- das können Parlamentarier am besten, das müssen Parlamentarier machen-, und diesem Gesichtspunkt wird unser Vorschlag, wie die Grundrechtscharta praktisch entwickelt werden soll, unter allen Umständen Rechnung tragen.

Formulating this kind of charter of basic rights would be a typical task for Members of Parliament- they are best able to do so and it is what they must do- and we will certainly take account of that aspect in our proposal concerning the practical form that charter of basic rights should assume.

I repeat that I do not know whether others are parliamentarians or false parliamentarians, but my question was not a false question.
