Exactly the above mentioned happened few months ago to a childhood friend - a homecomer from the dispora.

Genau die oben genannten geschah wenige Monate vor, ein Jugendfreund - einer Beziehungstragödie aus der Dispora.

It is also possible to find ‘i tozzetti’, and ‘i mostaccioli’, which are old types of biscuits with a base of flour, sugar, dried figs, candied fruit and raisins; they are of ancient origin and the name derives from the Latin mustaceum which means «focaccia di notte» (flatbread of the night), derived from the word ‘mostum’, mosto (grape must), because prepared with flour mixed with grape must. Ihr Ursprung ist sehr alt und ihr Name leitet sich von dem lateinischen Ausdruck “mustaceum” ab, der «focaccia di notte» (Fladen der Nacht) bedeutet und sich wiederum ableitet von “mostum” (Most), da sie mit Mehl, unter das Most gemengt wurde, zubereitet wurden. Wenn also – wie bereits gesagt – in der Küche Roms und des Latium auch die ausgesuchten Feinheiten fehlen, die andernorts von den Renaissance-Höfen geerbt wurden (eine der wenigen Erbschaften in Rom ist das “pasticcio di maccheroni” (Makkaroniauflauf), so genannt von Papst Bonifaz VIII.), wenn auch ihre Ursprünge bäuerlich und volkstümlich sind, so kann sie dennoch nicht als arm bezeichnet werden, da – u.a. dank der Einflüsse, die auf der Tatsache beruhen, dass Rom ein Sammelbecken von Personen verschiedener Kulturen ist – diese Gastronomie reich und abwechslungsreich ist, ein Ergebnis eben dieser unterschiedlichen Beiträge und häufig aufgewertet von verschiedenen, ziemlich beständigen Traditionen.
