The shops, banks, restaurant and bars are all within walking distance from the Resort. The main bus terminal is adjacent to the Resort and takes you all the way to Valetta, the capital city. The sandy beach is only a couple of minutes by car or bus, approx. 15 minutes walk. There is a complimentary bus to the beach. Malta is both an outstanding summer vacation destination as well as a living microcosm of Mediterranean history. Besides archaeological and architectural gems Malta's great attraction are the numerous village fiestas falling mostly during summer. These festivities in honour of the village patron saint are characterized by band marches, colourful street decorations, spectacular firework displays and a religious procession where the statue of the patron saint is carried through the village streets.

The preceding symbols strongly prove the transitions from morals to chaos. Golding quite clearly used symbolism throughout the book to represent the state of the boy’s society, and how it slowly changed to an impious microcosm. It is quite amazing how Golding implemented many different symbols to describe the story that may not be noticed at first glance. Golding achieves his goal of expressing the story in an in-depth manner with the use of symbols.

With the vast mass of messages immediately available in today 's information society, teaching cannot remain confined to the scholastic microcosm, but must train the citizens of tomorrow to be able to identify the best strategy for accessing what is most appropriate, useful and relevant in the mass of available information.

Angesichts der Unmenge von Informationen, die in der heutigen Informationsgesellschaft direkt zugänglich sind, darf der Unterricht nicht auf einen schulischen Mikrokosmos beschränkt bleiben, sondern es geht vielmehr darum, den Bürger von morgen heranzubilden, der in der Lage ist, die beste Strategie herauszufinden, um aus der Unmenge verfügbarer Informationen das beste, geeignetste und zweckmäßigste herauszusuchen.
