Presidencies start with big goals, but real life brings us all back down to earth.

Regarding the mountain bike that was called for in earlier speeches, I would like to say that Finland, like Germany and the other presidencies, as well as Commissioner Franco Frattini, would like to put this mountain bike into a higher gear, and that we aim to use it for the benefit of common security and a safer Europe.

Was das Mountainbike angeht, nach dem hier in einigen Redebeiträgen verlangt worden ist, möchte ich sagen, dass Finnland, ebenso wie Deutschland und die anderen Ratspräsidentschaften und auch Kommissar Frattini, bei diesem Mountainbike gern einen höheren Gang einlegen und es gern zum Wohle der gemeinsamen Sicherheit und für ein sichereres Europa einsetzen würden.

That is not the tradition of European presidencies, and I think that we should return to a more neutral type of presidency.
