Grown epitaxially on silicon carbide (SiC) wafers, large area graphene samples appear feasible and integration in existing device technology can be envisioned.

Graphen, ein einatomigen Schicht aus Graphit beherbergt ein zweidimensionales Elektronengas mit großen Elektronenbeweglichkeiten die es ein potenzieller Kandidat für die Zukunft Kohlenstoff Nanostrukturen macht. Epitaktisch auf Siliziumkarbid (SiC)-Wafer gewachsen ist, erscheinen großflächig Graphenproben machbar und Integration in bestehende Gerätetechnik sind denkbar.
