It’s this icon that draws throngs of Catholic and Orthodox faithful alike to fill the church with votive offerings, particularly around the 16th November when an eight day festival in honour of Vilnius is organised, with group prayers, confessions and Mass. Visitors are welcome, but should dress conservatively and keep in mind the special and sacred role of this chapel for the pilgrims that come here from all over the world.
